One Piece Anime Special to Air on December 15 right after One Piece Film Z Opens

A television anime special titled One Piece Episode of Luffy: Hand Island no Boken (One Piece Episode of Luffy: The Hand Island Adventure) is scheduled to premiere on Saturday, December 15 at 9:00 p.m.  Click here to watch the ad.

The special is a tie-in story to the upcoming One Piece Film Z with the lead character Luffy. The storyline is set a little before the events of One Piece Film Z and depicts a major "Hand Island" incident during the New World storyline with the pirate captain Shanks.  

Eiichiro Oda, original creator of One Piece manga, is also supervising the production of this TV special. The special airs December 15, right after One Piece Film Z opens in Japan.
