According to the July cover of Kodansha’s Dessert magazine, both Kanae Hazuki’s Sukitte Ii na yo (Say “I love you”) and Robico’s Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (The Monster Seated Next to You) shoujo manga will be getting anime adaptations in the fall.

Sukitte Ii na yo tells the story of Mei Tachibana, a girl who has never made friends or had a boyfriend in 16 years. One day, she accidentally injures Yamato Kurosawa, the school’s most popular boy. For some reason, Yamato becomes interested in Mei and starts a one-sided friendship with her. He even protects her from a stalker -- by kissing her.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun centers around Shizuku Mizutani, a girl who has absolutely no interests except for school and her plans for the future. A boy named Yoshida would be seated next to her in class, but he has been constantly absent for one reason or another since the first day of school. By chance, she is sent to deliver class printouts to him, and that leads Yoshida to believe they are friends.
