"BTOOOM!" to Get TV Anime Adaptation

Madhouse confirmed that they will be adapting Junya Inoue's manga BTOOOM! into a TV anime. The manga revolves around an unemployed 22-year-old named Sakamoto Ryota who lives with his mother. There is nothing special about him in the real world, but he's one of the top players of an online game "BTOOOM!" After waking up on a tropical island without knowing how or why he got there, Sakamoto realizes he has been forced to participate in a real-life version of his favourite game. Who is behind this game? Will Sakamoto survive in the end and figure out who brought him here?

 

The production team has also been revealed. The TV anime will be directed by rookie director Watanabe Kotono, and the scripts will be written by experienced writer Kuroda Yosuke (Jormungand, Honey and Clover, High School of the Dead). Kishida Takahiro (Durarara!!) will be designing the characters. Animation studio Madhouse (Hunter X Hunter) will be doing the production.
