2nd Season of Chihayafuru to Air in January 2013

The official website of anime Chihayafuru has revealed that the second season will beginning airing in January, 2013.  

The anime, based on the manga series of the same name, is being produced by animation production company Madhouse Studios. The Chihayafuru manga series is written and illustrated by Yuki Suetsugu and started serialization in Be Love in 2007. The story follows a schoolgirl named Chihaya Ayase, who dreams of becoming Japan's best karuta player.  

The first season of the anime aired October 2011 to March 2012. The series was produced under the direction of Morio Asaka with script supervision by Naoya Takayama and character designs by Kunihiko Hamada. The cast includes such well-known voice actors in Japan as Asami Seto, Kazuya Nakai and Mamoru Miyano.
